Frequently Asked Questions
1. How big is Harbor?
We have around 75 members with a Sunday morning attendance of approximately 125 people.
2. Are there oppurtunities to serve?
Absolutely. We have more opportunities to minister and serve the body than we are able to fill. Once you become a member, it’s simply a matter of finding those areas of service that fit your passion and gifts.
3. What do you provide for children and young people?
•Nursery for infants
•Children’s Sunday School Classes (age appropriate)
•Midsummer Lord’s Day – Annual Young People’s Gathering
•Monthly Fellowship Meals at Church
•Monthly Teen Gathering at Church Building
4. Does your church have a small group ministry?
Yes. We presently have three small groups, which meet each Sunday morning during the Sunday school hour to study, pray, and fellowship. One of our main goals in small groups is to cultivate deeper, more loving relationships within the church family.
5. How do you become a member of Harbor?
We ask those who are interested in membership to attend our church for two or three months to be sure they have a good feel for who we are and what we’re about. During or after that time, those who are interested meet with one of the pastors to share how they came to know the Savior. If their testimony reveals an understanding of the gospel and evidence of conversion, their written testimony is made available to the congregation before they are warmly and lovingly received into membership at a Lord’s Supper, where the focus is on what we share in Christ.
6. How hard is it to get access to a pastor?
About as hard as tugging on a shirt sleeve, sending an e-mail, a text message or dialing a seven-digit phone number. Both of our pastors long to know and serve you. Put them to the test and see how soon and happily they will meet with you.
7. When are your services?
•Sunday School: 9:30AM
•Sunday morning worship: 10:45AM
•Sunday evening worship: 5:30PM
•Wednesday evening: 7:00PM
8. Where is your church building located?
Our church building is located at 269 Douglas Ave. Holland, MI 49424. To see a map you may click HERE
9. How should I dress for services?
Comfortably. When it comes to dress, the only biblical directives are that we avoid immodesty and any effort to draw attention to ourselves. (I Timothy 2:8-10) Our focus is on God. His focus is on our hearts. (I Samuel 16:7)
